Introduction

Throughout the history of this world, being open-minded can be one of the challenges that usually occur in each country. We are too lazy to go out of our comfort zone and try something new. However, there are several countries, which had that courage to go out of their comfort zone, try to make something new, and hoping that it would have a positive affect towards the country. Throughout this blog, there would be a discussion about the similarities of china during their communist era, and also Indonesia during the New Order of President Suharto. During these eras, both countries made a drastic change towards their economic and political policies. The leaders that were in charge for both countries were; Mao Zedong ruling China, and Suharto ruling Indonesia.

They were great leaders at first. Suharto was the one that brought Indonesia up, because Indonesia suffered from a small economic crisis made by the first president of Indonesia, Soekarno. After Soekarno’s era that ended around the year 1968, and the MPRS at that time appointed Suharto as president. Mao was also a great leader, his first 5 years plan were a success towards making China’s economic grow, but then it started to fail when he was to ambitious about it and created the great leap forward, which made all his achievements useless because it led China to the beginnings of their other economical crisis.
